Singapore telecommunications companies provide access to wireless Internet across much of the island. Access is easy via Wireless@SG, with or without a SingTel or SingNet subscription, for residents and visitors. Find out how to sign up.
Singapore IDA is free wireless Internet access is open to all residents and visitors in Singapore. Users can sign up with any of the three operators to access all the hotspots in Wireless@SG, offering surfing speeds of up to 512Kbps. The three operators supporting Wireless@SG (iCELL Network Pte Ltd, QMax Communications and Singapore Telecommunications Ltd) have agreed to make it avalable free until 31 March 2013.
To connect to the Wireless@SG wireless broadband network, a user needs a WiFi-enabled device, such as a laptop computer or a PDA, a web browser, and a registered wireless account. Click to register with the following:An SMS giving log in details is sent to the phone. Those without mobile phones or online access can visit any of the operators' customer service centres to register and collect their passwords. More details can be found with each operator. With this registered account, the user is able to roam within any of Wireless@SG's coverage areas, regardless of the operators' network. To access Wireless@SG, users need to be located within the respective Wireless@SG coverage areas.
SingNet Outdoor WirelessThere are more than 800 Wireless Surf Zones and at locations such as Starbucks, Delifrance, Spinelli, Burger King outlets. A SingNet (dial-up or broadband) or SingTel Mobile GPRS subscriber can log in to the Internet just about anywhere, at anytime in Singapore with a notebook and wireless LAN card. Using a properly installed and configured wireless LAN card, a subscriber can launch their Internet browser at a Wireless Surf Zone. A log-in page will open and login ID and password must be entered. Once the account information is authenticated, an Internet connection will be made via SingNet.
This service is available to all postpaid roamers that log on to SingTel Mobile network. Usage rates apply, these are available from the home operator. The service is free from 1 June 2007 to 31 December 2009. Locating a Wireless Surf Zone
