Hi, we're planning a trip to Australia soon and would welcome any tips on what to see and where to go first. It's such a huge continent so what are the musts and where should we start? And we probably need at least a week right? Many thanks in advance !

You need at least 1 week for Australia and you wont' be able to do it all at once :). I would choose Sidney before Melbourne to start with. It's a great city with lots to see in the outskirts as well. After Sidney, I would do the west coast and wineyards, Margaret river -- it's fantastic. Great barrier-reef is awesome but quite dangerous to actally swim there. The flora and fauna is amazing over the whole continent.

You need to decide whether you want to see cities or the scenery. Ayers Rock is fantastic although hugely expensive. West coast is a must too -- there's so much to see...!

I'm also hearing United Emirates have cheap flights to Australia.

We had our holiday in Sydney a couple of years back for three weeks. We went to all the tourist spots but we also drove around New South Wales from North to South. Went Nawrra where we had the best fresh oysters in the whole world and one of the biggest too. Our family couldn't forget our drive to Hunter Valley. We went there during Spring so that the weather is perfect not too hot and not too cold. It was one of the best family vacations we had although every year is a best one!
