Take The Wheel

When you relocate and settle in a new country there is always a long list of things to do, things to change and things to get used to. For many people, one of the biggest of these is driving - adapting to the road rules and customs. But before you can take the wheel you should be absolutely certain you're licensed to drive.

licensed to drive

Anyone planning to live in Singapore who has a driving licence issued by another country will have to give this up for a Singapore licence within their first year of residence. Fortunately, the licence can simply be exchanged, with no requirement to take the Singapore driving test.

You'll find all the details relevant to foreign issued licences - and how to go about making a licence exchange - on the AngloINFO INFOrmation Page on Exchanging a Foreign Driving Licence in Singapore.

If you need to start from scratch see the INFOrmation Page on Driving Licences in Singapore to find out what to expect and how to go about preparing for and taking the test.

You'll find driving instructors to help with this, in The AngloFILE, AngloINFO's comprehensive directory of local businesses and services, in the category for Driving Schools & Instruction.
