You're Not Alone!
Missing "home", missing family and friends, missing hearing the accent and language quirks of your mother tongue - these are feelings shared by many foreigners in Singapore. But you need not feel alone as there are a number of organisations that exist specifically to help people integrate into the local society, or build up a new group of friends, locally.
Reaching out
AngloINFO provides a number of ways to help you meet people and network in your region. In the Community Life: Singapore category of The AngloFILE you'll find local Clubs & Associations which include social clubs and shared interest groups. You'll also find support groups, sports associations, church groups and so on.
Formalised organisations aside, there are always people getting together via the Local Discussions, it's a great way to find and then connect with other expats right here in your region. Whether you're looking to spend time meeting and eating or getting out and about you're bound to find a new friend there.
