Spring Forward

This past weekend marked the traditional start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. March is also when the clocks go forward by one hour in the countries worldwide that practice daylight savings (Singapore, of course, is not one of them).

days and dates

Daylight Savings Time comes into effect at the same time each year in Europe - on the last Sunday in March - that's this Sunday, 29 March at 03:00. The changeover date is different elsewhere in the world; for instance, the US and Canada changed over earlier as an energy-saving measure.

Though this time of year doesn't bring a time change for Singapore, it does bring the short break between monsoon seasons. It also ushers in Qing Ming, the Clear and Bright Festival - a time for enjoying the clearer days and for honouring ancestors.

In order to make the most of these nicer days, use the AngloINFO Weather page to get forecasts at locations across the country. You can personalise the weather page to suit you: set a particular place as your default weather location and it will appear automatically each time you load up the page (it'll also be the location for the weather report you get on the site's front page).
