Lost For Words

Communicating effectively is empowering. But when you live in such an international environment, and have the option for so much global travel, it's easy to find yourself in a situation where you struggle to make yourself understood. However you can fix this!

Empower yourself

There are many ways to learn foreign languages as an adult: total immersion, where you live and breathe the language for a fixed period; group or individual lessons; or "distance learning" where you work one-on-one with your teacher by telephone and e-mail (very convenient if you are unable to attend regular classes).

Take the first step by taking a look in The AngloFILE, AngloINFO's directory of local businesses and organisations for Language Schools & Language Tuition.

If you'd prefer to study by yourself, or simply need to brush up on some aspects of a language, you'll find a selection of language guides and dictionaries in the Language section of the Bookshop. These can be bought online through Amazon.co.uk.

And if you don't feel you have the language skills to handle an important call or discussion or to prepare a letter, you can always employ the help of a professional - see the category Translators & Interpreters.
